With the UK on the verge of a massive outbreak of food poisoning, and food safety campaigners warning that the UK’s salt supply is in peril, it’s time to ask: why can’t you buy the best salt?
The answer to that question is a mystery.
The UK’s food and drink authorities (FAO, the food industry body) have just published a guide on salt, but it only covers salt that’s been tested in the UK.
It doesn’t cover the rest of the world, where consumers have to look elsewhere.
The UK has one of the lowest levels of salt consumption in the world.
That’s because of a long history of poor sanitation practices.
The country has a history of salt mining, and salt is one of Britain’s biggest exports.
Salt is produced by extracting salt from natural resources, such as coal and iron ore, and the process is expensive.
The price of salt is higher than the price of sugar or flour.
The FAO has estimated that salt costs the UK between £1.7bn and £4.9bn a year.
But even this estimate isn’t entirely accurate.
The salt industry is based in London, so the Salt Institute in the US, which researches salt and its use in health and nutrition, says it’s unlikely that the Salt Council, the UK government body that sets salt standards, could test the quality of UK salt.
“There are a lot of issues with the UK salt supply,” said Peter McEwan, director of the Salt Observatory at the University of Reading.
“It’s not easy to get salt from the UK.”
So how can we get the best?
There are some good options in the market.
For example, British salt has the lowest salt content in the EU, and it comes from British farmers who have been farming salt for generations.
The average salt in Britain comes from farms across the UK, including the south-west, the north-west and the east of England.
The other option is to buy organic salt.
This salt is produced in countries with relatively low levels of contamination, and contains less salt than conventional salt.
The organic salt comes from farmers who grow their own salt.
It’s more sustainable and less expensive than salt purchased from a salt producer.
Some people choose to use salt bought in stores.
These include people who want to avoid buying salt from companies that have tested for salt contamination, or people who need to add salt to their diets.
“You’re not going to get the quality from salt that you’re getting from a commercial salt processor,” said McEgan.
“If you’re not careful, it can end up tasting horrible.”
There are also brands that aren’t tested at all, which could be a problem for people who don’t eat a lot.
And, because salt can be expensive, some brands aren’t sold in supermarkets or on the internet.
So what’s the best choice?
The FAO recommends buying organic salt from farmers in the region where you live, or buying salt directly from the salt producer, or by buying salt at a supermarket.
However, this isn’t always the case.
A study published in The Lancet last year found that people who bought salt in supermarkets were less likely to buy salt from a processor than those who bought it at a store.
The Salt Council also recommends buying salt bought from the producers that supply it.
This means buying salt in a factory that’s owned and operated by a salt company, or purchasing salt from suppliers that don’t test salt for contamination.
But what about the health benefits of salt?
Salt has been linked to a range of health benefits, including lowering cholesterol, improving immune function, and reducing the risk of heart disease.
“The health benefits are probably the most important and the most promising,” said Mark Williams, an epidemiologist at the Australian National University.
“If you look at the health effects of salt, the benefits tend to be relatively minor.
The most significant benefits are seen in reducing the risks of heart attack and stroke, and overall being more active and feeling better.”
There’s a wide range of foods that contain salt, and there are also plenty of foods people can buy that contain less salt.
So why can we’t buy the salt that we really need?
As the UK prepares for a major food safety crisis, there are plenty of people asking why salt isn’t on the menus.
“People will say: why don’t we have a salt that comes from the same land?
They might think that the salt comes straight from a farm, which is a bit ridiculous,” said Williams.
“People are buying it because they think it’s delicious.”
But the salt industry insists that salt is safe.
There are a few things you need to know before you buy salt.
You need to make sure that the company you’re buying salt comes with a label.
