By National Geographic Contributing WriterJOSEPH BERRY:Salt is a delicious and simple ingredient.
Salt, with its silky texture, softness, and delicious taste, is everywhere.
There is salt in the air, salt on the floor, salt in your mouth, salt that comes off the salt of the sea.
If you like to cook with salt, then you will also like to eat salt.
The same applies to baking.
The more salt you have in the recipe, the more tasty it will be.
Salt can be used to enhance the flavor of baked goods.
The saltiness of salt, the color, the scent, and the texture of salt are just some of the reasons to like salt.

Beware: the salt in baking is often a mixture of salt and sugar.
The ingredients used to make baked goods are also not as nutritious as they seem.
So, don’t be fooled by the packaging.
If a baking recipe calls for a teaspoon of salt for a recipe, you might want to use less of that teaspoon.
