You can use a mix of plain and sweetened baking soda, but you may want to use a bit of salt as well.
Here’s how to make your own salt dough.
Put a little lemon juice into a pot.
Bring the water to a boil and turn off the heat.
Add the salt to the water, and cook over medium-high heat for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat.
Pour the salt into a medium bowl and set aside.
Put the lime juice and vinegar in the same pot.
Stir until the mixture is well combined.
Put in the pot the apple cider vinegar and lemon juice.
Add a bit more lemon juice if needed.
Add more sugar if needed and stir well.
Add salt and mix well.
Add flour and mix gently.
Add baking soda and stir again.
Add lemon juice and stir until the dough comes together.
Shape into a ball.
Wrap in a towel and let rise for at least 10 hours.
When ready to use, divide into 8 balls and roll each one into a large, flat ball.
Serve them on a sheet pan.
