Salt River Project, the Utah-based company that built the $100 million solar salt project in Salt Lake City, has just announced its plans to install a battery farm and storage system for its salt water solar salt storage.
The project, which will be built by SunPower, uses a battery bank that uses a combination of solar salt and natural gas to store water for later use.
Solar Salt will also use solar energy to power the storage system, which is expected to be operational by early 2019.
SunPower also expects to have a battery factory in Salt River County by 2020.
This is the first of two phases of the solar salt program.
The first phase is being designed to test solar salt installations at two salt water projects in the Salt River Valley.
In addition to Salt River project, SunPower is working on projects in Idaho and Texas.
The company also plans to open a battery storage plant in the Great Salt Lake in 2021, which it hopes to begin commercial production by the year 2023.
Salt River Project will be located at 1.2 miles north of Salt Lake city, Utah.
It will be approximately 1.5 miles wide and approximately 1 mile deep.
